Get well bestie

I've pledged to run 200 kilometres for the month of March in support of my beautiful best friend, Sharon who has endured the most horrendous 20 months of ill health due to cancer treatment. Her journey comes soon after we lost another beautiful best friend, Anne and my brother in law, Mick very prematurely to this cruel disease. We have lost many before, and many more have been diagnosed with cancer in recent times (you know who you are unfortunately), it is truly heartbreaking. It is my hope that awareness and funding is directed not only on new drugs but for the prevention and complimentary care treatment practices to improve the quality of life for those suffering.

For Sharon (and her family), this has been a long, painful and arduous journey with a severely compromised immune system, far too many hospital stays and an enormous amount of pain and suffering - it's truly heart breaking to all of us that know and love her.

Sharon's eternal optimism is nothing short of miraculous, she's a fighter and with the continued love and support from her family and friends, we know she can regain her quality of life.

Please don't take your health for granted - you don't know how lucky you are to have good health until it has been taken away from you.
