Every Step for Mum, Every Dollar to help others!

I am raising funds for the Cancer Council because, like so many families, mine has been deeply affected by cancer. Both of my parents have faced their own cancer journeys—Dad was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome 10 years ago and, thanks to a bone marrow transplant, he is still with us today. We were incredibly fortunate to have the Cancer Council’s support during that time, providing accommodation, financial assistance, and emotional support when we needed it most.

Then, in September 2023, Mum was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Sadly, in October 2024, we lost her to this terrible disease. In her memory, and as a thank-you for the support we received, I’m taking on this challenge to help others facing cancer.

This year in Australia, an estimated 162,000 people will hear the words “you have cancer”. I’m doing my part to change that by getting active and raising funds for world-class cancer research, prevention programs, and vital support services.
