The Charitables
Team Charitable: Charging to Beat Cancer
This March, my family and friends and I are teaming up for the March Charge—a month-long fitness challenge to raise funds for world-class cancer research, prevention programs, and support services. Our team name, “Charitable,” is a nod to my incredible mum, Maitreyi Chari, who we lost to cancer, and her legacy of giving and kindness (and, yes, it’s also a pun—we couldn’t resist).
Cancer is a tough opponent, with almost 1 in 2 Australians diagnosed by the age of 85. But we’re tougher. As a family, we’re stepping up, getting active, and fundraising to help create a future where cancer is no longer a threat.
Think of this as a reunion with sneakers instead of snacks (though let’s be real, Snickers is a great post-walk snack- lets pray we are better at walking than punning :) ). We’re walking for those we’ve lost, for those still fighting, and for everyone who deserves a future free of cancer.
So, here’s the deal: We walk. You donate. Cancer loses. It’s that simple. Join us on this journey—because together, we can make a difference.
Let’s put cancer in its place. One step at a time and one Charge at a time.
