I'm taking on Cancer Council's The March Charge...

Last year my mum got diagnosed with a cancer. Admittedly it was scary news to swallow but knowing my mum, I had no doubt she’d fight with everything she had. She’s one of the strongest people I know, and I was certain she’d come out of this even stronger than before. Unfortunately, at her most recent follow up appointment, mum received a recurrent cancer diagnosis. Hearing this diagnosis was utterly gut-wrenching. I’m not going to lie it wasn’t easy watching someone you love go through a process as gruelling as chemotherapy and radiation the first time round. It’s incredibly painful to witness your parent, someone you admire, become physically and emotionally vulnerable. I know we have a long, scary road ahead of us, but if anyone can kick cancers butt, it’s the incredibly strong woman that is my mum.

After my mum’s recent diagnosis I’ve decided to take on Cancer Council's The March Charge. This month-long fitness challenge will help support Cancer Council’s life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and support services. As this is something that hits close to home for me, I would truly appreciate your support in making a difference, because no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
